Brand new man

T stepped up to Mommy’s barber chair today for his spring buzz cut. He had a crazy notion(thanks to a little prodding from dear old daddy) that he was going to let his hair grow out but I personally could not take the major bed head anymore and that cowlick had to go!
He admitted afterwards, “It feels so great now!”
No such thing as spring break around here going on either! While the kids glued cotton to their lambs we read from the Gospel of John about Jesus being the “Lamb of God.” When we finished all of the sudden T announced he wanted to practice all of his lower case letters and L obviously drug out lots of little activities to keep her busy.
So, I took advantage of this time to throw together some….

Sift together:
2 cups flour
2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup sugar

Stir together:
1 cup cold coffee
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 beaten egg
2 tablespoons oil

Stir flour and liquid ingredients together-don’t beat.

1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup pecans (or other nuts)
(I have substituted butterscotch chips for the nuts before or just left out the nuts and added more chocolate chips too, so far it’s all good!)

Pour into greased loaf pan. Let stand(rest) 10 minutes. Bake at 350* for 30-35 Min.(It always takes more like 40-50 minutes for mine, maybe it’s just my oven.)

What a HANDSOME boy!!! Just look at his eyes. If you can believe it, my boys have NEVER had a buzz cut. They are long-haired boys. lol. In fact, our hairdresser is here now, and just cut a good 1-2 inches off of their heads, and it looks short to me! But it is still long by any other mother’s standards. lol My husband is getting his done now. His is spiked on top, over the ears, and layered over the rest. Well….I am sure oyu’ve seen photos of them all, come to think of it!
Now…mind if I snag that Party Bread recipe? {A} has actually been writing a cookbook for about a year now, but has been working on it many hours a day lately. She takes recipes, and puts her own spin on them. Some she pretty much completely re-invents. She has detailed plans to open her own bakery. She will be thrilled with anything called PARTY BREAD. We love parties, AND bread! lol
