Sounding it out

Lilly started her calendar notebook without me today.  She did ask if “to” was a word family and I told her it really wasn’t and that word families are the ending of words.  She didn’t mind.  She went right back to work concentrating really hard.

So here’s what she came up with, see if you can figure it out:

She went ahead with “to” as her word family and the words she came up with using that were:

TOTEBUNS = Tooty-buns

TOTNKOMIN = Tutankhamun (as in King Tut)

TOT = Toot

TOTEFROT = Tooty-Fruity

And that so perfectly explains how it is with teaching Lilly.
