Ice cream and bugs....it's what summer is made of!

Our favorite summer, who am I kidding…year-round treat, ICE CREAM!This is Toby’s newest interest, anything creepy and crawly and boyishly gross. Actually, in this picture it’s just an innocent little inch worm, there have been worse…. Sidenote: One of my personal lessons learned from being a mom: Kids will react to creepy-crawly things based on

The wild and the carefree

So typical of these two: Our wild boy, always entertaining and making us laugh, making faces, singing, cracking jokes, so matter of fact, yet sweet to the core, honest and gentle as can be, caring and only a little bit daring, reserved yet rowdy. And the carefree spirited little girl. She floats around like she’s

the passing of Gary...

Me: Toby, I have some bad news. Toby: What’s the matter, Mom? Me: Well, it looks like Gary has gone to Heaven. Toby: Aww man. What happened? Me: Well, he must have gotten sick and he died and went to Heaven now. See he’s just floating in there now. He’s not swimming anymore. Toby: Can

coyote/shots

OK, not that you can really see this because it’s a fuzzy picture and it’s in the distance but to the left of the spruce tree there is a coyote that Mark saw the other night running right through our front yard! We hear them a lot, especially when their babies are crying out and

Here are some fun pictures of a few wonderful green things growing around here! Here they are, in order of severity: trees cats mold ragweed pine trees weeds in general rabbits soybeans Since he has already been on all of the strongest available medications but not

A cow haunting...

So since I am on hiatus from scrapbooking, I have to get this memory down because it has to be remembered: For some unknown reason lately, Lilly seems to have developed an odd fear of cows. She hasn’t had a close encounter or anything, sure we’ve talked about them, driven by them, seen them on

Crazy Mother Nature

Lilly’s first experience with the sprinkler was a huge success. I get this weird but great “ahh” feeling in my heart at times like this because there are times when Toby tends to be very reserved and even timid when trying new and different things. Lilly on the other hand, jumps right into things with
